Conservation Insiders Series – Building on 2016 Wildlife Wins

In 2016, we marked critical victories for some of Earth’s most iconic and beloved species. We celebrated the news that for the first time in a century, wild tiger numbers are on the rise. The US adopted new regulations that will largely end the commercial elephant ivory trade in the US. And, in October, during the world’s largest ever wildlife trade meeting—CITES COP17—governments agreed to provide greater protection to a number of threatened species, including rhinos, sharks, and pangolins.
