Protecting the forests of Thirty Hills in Sumatra

The lush rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia are unlike any other place on Earth. WWF, the Frankfurt Zoological Society, and The Orangutan Project are the founding partners of PT Alam Bukit Tigapuluh (ABT), or The Thirty Hills Forest Company, which is pursuing an innovative solution to save one of the most important forests left on this island, called Bukit Tigapuluh—or Thirty Hills. ABT is a commercial business with a conservation mission. The goal is to restore and protect 100,000 acres of former logging concessions and by doing so, save nature and benefit people and the planet.
