Shari Sant

SHARI SANT is an environmental philanthropist and ocean activist. She is the president and founder of the Code Blue Charitable Foundation, a trustee of the Summit Charitable Foundation, and serves on the boards of Mission Blue and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of Focused on Nature, the National Council of the World Wildlife Fund, the Planetary Guardians Advisory Council, and The Explorers Club. A passionate advocate for impact photography and filmmaking, Shari is a member of the Advisory Council of National Geographic’s Impact Story Lab and Media Impact Funders. She is also the former board chair of the International League of Conservation Photographers. Shari has produced several award-winning environmental documentaries, including the Emmy Award–winning Netflix films Mission Blue and Chasing Coral, as well as Anote’s Ark, Sharkwater Extinction, Ghost Fleet, and Ian Urbina’s The Outlaw Ocean series. She is also an executive producer of Deep Rising, Gaucho, Gaucho, and Battle for Laikipia. In addition to her production work, she has served as a judge for numerous film festivals, including the Blue Ocean Film Festival, Wildscreen, and the Woodstock Film Festival. A graduate of New York University, Shari spent nine years in New York as a senior stylist and design director for Ralph Lauren, later serving as visual director at Esprit. In 1994, she founded the environmental lifestyle store Worldware in San Francisco, which she sold in 2001 to dedicate herself full-time to environmental advocacy. Shari travels extensively as a diver, photographer, and ambassador for ocean conservation and environmental awareness. She lives in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York with her dog, Sunny.
