Virginia Frediani

Senior Program Officer, Wildlife Conservation

Virginia Frediani is a Senior Program Officer on WWF’s Wildlife Conservation team, where she has worked since 2019 to champion threatened and endangered species across Asia and the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA). She collaborates with WWF colleagues and partners to advance conservation in priority landscapes with a focus on carnivores like lions, snow leopards, and tigers. Virginia partners with local organizations and communities to drive conservation efforts where they matter most. She provides technical expertise for species conservation, manages projects in collaboration with field teams and partners, and helps mobilize resources from various donors to accomplish conservation goals. In addition, Virginia was also part of the 2023 class of the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders program, where she further engaged in lion conservation and coexistence across African lion ranges. Virginia holds a Master’s in Environmental Management, concentrating in Ecosystem Science and Conservation, from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment in Durham, NC, and a Bachelor of Art in Environmental Studies from the University of Richmond in Richmond, VA.
