Species Spotlight: Amur Tiger

Male Amur tiger in the forest

Where does the Amur tiger live?

The Amur tiger’s habitat is restricted to the Sikhote-Alin range in the Russian Far East, with small pockets in the border areas of China and possibly North Korea.

Why do Amur tigers have the largest range of any tiger subspecies?

Low prey densities force them to search across vast landscapes to find food.

What is TX2?

Bringing tigers back from the brink takes commitment on a global scale, so in 2010 tiger range countries set an ambitious species conservation goal: double the number of wild tigers by 2022—the next Year of the Tiger.
