Seth Larson
Director, Media & External Affairs
Seth’s work in communications is driven by a belief that achieving outcomes for the planet depends on clear, compelling storytelling that connects people, science, and solutions. At World Wildlife Fund, Seth leads media and external affairs for WWF’s nature finance work, assists with US federal policy communications, and oversees institutional thought leadership strategy. He also hosts and produces WWF’s award‑winning podcast, Nature Breaking.
Seth has spent two decades at the intersection of media, policy, and public service. Prior to his current role, he served as Communications Director in the US Department of Energy’s Office of the Undersecretary for Science and Energy. Earlier, Seth worked for nearly a decade in the US Senate, including as Communications Director and Press Secretary for Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, where he led a team tasked with executing media relations, speechwriting, and public events on a wide range of public policy issues including climate change and environmental protection. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. He now lives in northern Virginia with his wife and son and is an avid runner and golfer.
