SHÉK JAIN is the Chairman of the Pura Terra Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose vision is to merge science and emotion to activate global support for a healthy and sustainable planet. He also is the Co-Chair of the D.C. Bar Association’s Environment, Energy & Natural Resources section; a Vice-Chair for Climate Programs at the American Bar Association; a Nonresident Senior Fellow of the Atlantic Council; a member of the Investment Committee of Arise Ventures; and a mentor to climate fellows at the Clinton Global Initiative. Previously, he served for sixteen years as the Vice Chairman & Chief Operating Officer of the BioUrja Group, a global renewable fuel supply and manufacturing company with an emphasis on energy transition. Prior to that, he was the CEO of WTP Capital, an international private equity firm supported by sovereign wealth; and an attorney with Jones Day; Holland & Knight; and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He and his wife, Anita, love exploring nature, whether by hiking, scuba diving, climbing, or by any other means that helps them get close-up to the planet’s wild places. They have three adult children, who share their passion for conservation and protection of the Earth’s natural and cultural resources.
