SJ Schanwald

SJ Schanwald is a Circular Supply Chain and Policy Program Officer working closely with the Food Waste Warriors program, a program for K-12 schools. Food Waste Warriors implements food systems curriculum and helps reduce food waste in cafeterias by making systems-level changes at the school, district, and state levels. SJ has a background in environmental science and community engagement, having worked with several non-profits that specialize in education, food growing, and waste management. They’ve worked on farms in Costa Rica, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, and have expertise in food waste reduction, environmental education, and sustainable agriculture. They graduated with a master’s degree from Chatham University in Business Administration and Food Studies.
