Help spread the word to reduce food waste in US schools
Please use the following tools to help guide your social media activity during Food Waste Prevention Week participation. This year, we’re highlighting two themes: food loss in schools and the heroes working to reduce it. For each theme, we have two suggested messages and several creative assets to choose from. Please feel free to combine them as you please. These posts are designed to get you started; feel free to personalize as much as you’d like.

Did you know that over 500,000 tons of food are thrown away in US schools each year? Cutting this waste is a team effort, and dedicated students and teachers are already hard at work implementing solutions that rescue food and save resources. Heroes reducing food loss
Message 1
There are over 100k schools in the US, and each one can help reduce food waste. An extraordinary group of students and teachers, including Kareena Gupta and Gerin Hennebaul, are helping lead the way.
