Restoring the Northern Great Plains

WWF is working to restore the Northern Great Plains, a living prairie in the heart of North America and one of only four remaining intact temperate grasslands in the world. Nearly two-thirds of this 286,000-square-mile region remains intact—never plowed or developed. Effective stewardship by private ranchers and Native American tribes has kept these lands both productive and wild.

This video explains how, through innovative partnerships with landowners, WWF is ensuring that the plains continue to thrive and inspire.
